Project Description:
Waterside Marketplace is a 440,000 square foot retail center in Chesterfield Township between 23 Mile Road, Cotton Road, I-94 and Vergote Drive. The project entailed three distinct roadway design projects, in addition to on-site retail development.

Waterside Drive is a 3,500 foot long private roadway. Pedestrian pathways, signage, and landscaping were included in the road design. A concrete surfaced roundabout was also designed at the intersection of Waterside Drive and West Vergote. The roundabout was designed in accordance with FHWA design guidelines, and approved by Chesterfield Township.

The second roadway project was a widening to provide additional through lanes and turn lanes for 2,000 feet of 23 Mile Road (M-29). The project was designed to current MDOT standards, and required review and approval from MDOT, the Road Commission of Macomb County, and Chesterfield Township.

The third roadway design project involved the widening of Cotton Road to provide a new left turn lane in both east and west directions with a new signalized intersection, in addition to new tapers and through lanes for a total re-construction of 1,800 lineal feet of county roadway.
