Garden of Healing and Renewal

Project Description:
PEA designed the largest healing garden park in Michigan with two fountains, pathways, sculptures, four boardwalks crossing wetlands and a small creek, a labyrinth, several sitting areas, a social space, an area for quiet contemplation, and lush gardens with thousands of ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennials. The Garden is part of an expansive medical campus called the McLaren Healthcare Village at Clarkston. Sustainable design features included native plantings to reduce water use for irrigation, use of natural drainage systems, and an innovative irrigation system to reduce water use.
The scope of work included conceptual design and programming, meetings with the health care provider to define the design program, design development, construction drawings, assistance with bidding and contractor selection, construction administration and inspection.
